Frances Tate

Bio

Frances is an active teacher and performer in the Philadelphia area. She plays with the Philly Pops, Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia, and the Lancaster Symphony,. In addition, she has performed with the Baltimore Symphony, Philadelphia Ballet Orchestra, and Delaware Symphonies. In 2002 she was the second place winner in the National Flute Association’s Piccolo Artist Competition. Frances has a Master’s Degree from the Peabody Conservatory and Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Michigan. Her primary teachers include Robert Willoughby, Leone Buyse, and Laurie Sokoloff.

Beyond the Pops

I am a woman of a thousand hobbies, which keep me busy and are always threatening to take over my life. These include (but are not limited to)biking, power lifting, gardening, fostering cats and learning languages.
