Peter Scarpato, Secretary of the Philly Pops’ Board of Directors, is a lawyer who worked as a senior executive in several insurance companies and spent 24 years resolving commercial disputes as an arbitrator and mediator. He has been singing and playing music for virtually a lifetime. For seven decades, he has followed his love for all things musical by performing in rock n’ roll, club and wedding bands, on-stage chorus performances in operas, and singing in the baritone and bass sections in seven choral groups. Now that he is retired, he has even more time to dedicate to music. He currently sings with the NNP’s Festival Chorus and Rittenhouse Sound, an acapella, barbershop style chorus, for which he also serves on the board. In fact, joining the Philly Pops’ management team makes it the fourth time he has served on the board of directors of a non-profit musical organization. Peter lives in Philadelphia with his wife of 43 years, Paula Weiss, and son Aaron. His daughter Rachel, her wife Jenna, and their son Adrian live in New Orleans.
